Welcome to our community: How do you define PEACE?

Peace is cooperative relationships build by people through a settlement of institutions aimed to reinforce their willingness to live and progress together, taking in account their diffenrent values and interests.

How did you find this community?

I met Professor Galtung at the 21st Human Rights Council at Geneva.

Do you have any professional experience in the field of peace-research? peace-studies? peace-practice?

Yes, I studied Mediation and worked about 7 years in the field of peacebuilding in Africa. During my last position in Guinea as Country Manager of International Alert, I was personally involved not only as manager but also as trainer in mediation and conflict analysis and moderator/facilitator for dialogues in several areas of interest within the country (national reconciliation, governance) and in the neighbouring Mano River Union countries (Youth and Women political participation).

Are you at all familiar with concepts of Nonviolence and Conflict Transformation?

Yes, I am familiar with these concepts and have done some trainings :
2008: Certificate on Transformative Mediation at RTC, Responding to Conflict based at Birmingham University, UK
2011: Certificate on Peace Mediation Course, organised by the Swiss department of Foreign Affaires

What are your primary conceptual interests and concerns

Mediation, Dialogue, Governance, Human security, Human rights.
