a state without conflict (armed or not armed) at local, community and family level, in which basic needs of people are fulfilled and their Human Rights respected.

How did you find this community?

UNITAR course 'conflict analysis' (followed in 2015)

Do you have any professional experience in the field of peace-research? peace-studies? peace-practice?

I am a Human Rights consultant (LL.M.) and I have conducted several baseline and evaluation missions in the field of conflict transformation, particularly in DRC. 15 years experience, mainly for INGOs (Search for common ground, Handicap international, Médecins du monde, Free the slaves, FIDH, Save the children…), UN agencies (UNDP, UNICEF) and international organizations (francophonie OIF).

Are you at all familiar with concepts of Nonviolence and Conflict Transformation?

yes, through the UNITAR course I followed last year

What are your primary conceptual interests and concerns

I am particularly interested in conflict sensitivity and the role of actors in this regard. I wish to start a PhD in this field in the coming months.

What is your main regional focus?

sub-saharian Africa (mostly Eastern Africa / great lakes), although I have also worked in Central Asia and Eastern Europe

Key qualifications
– More than 15 years’ experience in the field of Justice and Human Rights, particularly: Justice, Prisons, Child protection, Trafficking in Human Beings (THB), SGBV, Conflicts, Torture, Security Sector Reform (SSR), Peacebuilding, Media, Advocacy.
– Substantial experience in Capacity building of national authorities and civil society organisations.
– Expertise in Program Management: Need assessment missions, Project planning (including logical framework, budget), Baseline surveys, Project implementation, Monitoring, Evaluation (qualitative and quantitative studies), Training.
– Deep experience of fundraising procedures / donors, specifically EU, USAID, DFID, UNICEF.
– Diversified geographical experience: emergency, post-emergency and development contexts (DRC, Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi, Zimbabwe, Gambia, Togo, Senegal, Sudan – Darfur -, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova, Haiti, UK, France)
