1/3Complete Version: Peace on Earth – Raul Midon

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9nDENTG53k

    Lyrics:

There is no hope, there is no future
No faith in god to save the day
There is no reason, no understanding, no sacred place to hide away
    There is no earnest conversation
No words of wisdom from the wise
    There is no reconciliation
    And no collective compromise
Peace on earth, that’s what we want
Peace on earth, that’s what we all say
    Peace on earth
There in the hallway, lurks the ghost of war
He wants more and more and more and more and more and more and more
There is no darkness, no sunshine
    There is no great society
There is no freedom without conviction
There is no freedom to be free
There is no heaven, no fire and brimstone
There is no brotherhood of man
There is no country, no one religion
There is no universe or plan
Peace on earth, that’s what we want
Peace on earth, that’s what we all say
    Peace on earth
There in the hallway, lurks the ghost of war
He wants more and more and more and more and more and more and more
The answer is mutual as should, destruction
A balance of power, a weapon for everyone
    Mutual as should destruction
    Bringing peace to everyone.
    [Trumpet solo]
Peace on earth, that’s what we want
Peace on earth, that’s what we all say
Peace on earth, there in the hallway
Peace on earth, Peace on earth, Peace on earth

    Lyrics

    War, huh, yeah
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Uh-huh
    War, huh, yeah
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again, y’all

    War, huh, good God
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me

    Ohhh, war, I despise
    Because it means destruction
    Of innocent lives

    War means tears
    To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
    And lose their lives

    I said, war, huh
    Good God, y’all
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again

    War, whoa, Lord
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me

    War, it ain’t nothing
    But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
    Ooooh, war
It’s an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
    War has caused unrest
    Within the younger generation
    Induction then destruction
    Who wants to die
    Aaaaah, war-huh
    Good God y’all
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
    War, huh
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me

    War, huh, yeah
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Uh-huh
    War, huh, yeah
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again y’all
    War, huh, good God
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me

War, it ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
    War, it’s got one friend
    That’s the undertaker
    Ooooh, war, has shattered
    Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
    War can’t give life
It can only take it away

    Ooooh, war, huh
    Good God y’all
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again

    War, whoa, Lord
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me

War, it ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
    Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there’s got to be a better way

    Ooooooh, war, huh
    Good God y’all
    What is it good for
    You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it

    War, huh
    Good God y’all
    What is it good for
    Stand up and shout it
    Nothing

    3/3 War by Bob-Marley

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bppTAGnO6zA&feature=related

    Lyrics

Until the philosophy which hold one race superior
    And another
    Inferior
    Is finally
    And permanently
    Discredited
    And abandoned –
    Everywhere is war –
    Me say war.

    That until there no longer
First class and second class citizens of any nation
Until the colour of a man’s skin
Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes –
    Me say war.

That until the basic human rights
    Are equally guaranteed to all,
    Without regard to race –
    Dis a war.
    [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/b/bob+marley/war_20021799.html ]
    That until that day
    The dream of lasting peace,
    World citizenship
    Rule of international morality
Will remain in but a fleeting illusion to be pursued,
    But never attained –
Now everywhere is war – war.

And until the ignoble and unhappy regimes
That hold our brothers in Angola,
    In Mozambique,
    South Africa
    Sub-human bondage
    Have been toppled,
    Utterly destroyed –
    Well, everywhere is war –
    Me say war.

    War in the east,
    War in the west,
    War up north,
    War down south –
    War – war –
    Rumours of war.
    And until that day,
    The African continent
    Will not know peace,
We Africans will fight – we find it necessary –
And we know we shall win
    As we are confident
    In the victory

    Of good over evil –
    Good over evil, yeah!
    Good over evil –
    Good over evil, yeah!
    Good over evil –
    Good over evil, yeah! /fadeout/

I know this may not be regarded as a peace song. Yet, this song is real. And, whenever I hear this song, I cry….I cry to death. And I feel that I can cry till the peace will be real.

    Imagine there’s no heaven
    It’s easy if you try
    No hell below us
    Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today

    Imagine there’s no countries
    It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
    And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace

    You, you may say
I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

    Imagine no possessions
    I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
    A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world

    You, you may say
I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

    “No Bravery”

    There are children standing here,
    Arms outstretched into the sky,
    Tears drying on their face.
    He has been here.
    Brothers lie in shallow graves.
    Fathers lost without a trace.
A nation blind to their disgrace,
    Since he’s been here.

    And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
    Only sadness.

    Houses burnt beyond repair.
The smell of death is in the air.
A woman weeping in despair says,
    He has been here.
    Tracer lighting up the sky.
It’s another families’ turn to die.
A child afraid to even cry out says,
    He has been here.

    And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
    Only sadness.

    There are children standing here,
    Arms outstretched into the sky,
But no one asks the question why,
    He has been here.
Old men kneel to accept their fate.
Wives and daughters cut and raped.
    A generation drenched in hate.
    Says, he has been here.

    And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
    Only sadness.

    Tin soldiers and Nixon’s coming,
    We’re finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
    Four dead in Ohio.

    Gotta get down to it
    Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago.
    What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?

La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la.

    Gotta get down to it
    Soldiers are gunning us down

    Why do the babies starve
When there’s enough food to feed the world
Why when there’re so many of us
    Are there people still alone

Why are the missiles called peace keepers
    When they’re aimed to kill
Why is a woman still not safe
    When she’s in her home

    Love is hate
    War is peace
    No is yes
    And we’re all free

But somebody’s gonna have to answer
    The time is coming soon
Admidst all these questions and contradictions
There’re some who seek the truth

Tell me Why do the babies starve
When there’s enough food to feed the world
Why when there’re so many of us
    Are there people still alone

Why are the missiles called peace keepers
    When they’re aimed to kill
Why is a woman still not safe
    When she’s in her home

    Love is hate
    War is peace
    No is yes
    And we’re all free

But somebody’s gonna have to answer
    The time is coming soon
When the blind remove their blinders
And the speechless speak the truth

Tell me Why do the babies starve
When there’s enough food to feed the world
Why when there’re so many of us
    Are there people still alone

Why are the missiles called peace keepers

    “Fragile”

If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the colour of the evening sun
Tomorrow’s rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
    To clinch a lifetime’s argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
How fragile we are how fragile we are

    Too young to die Jamiroquoai

    Everybody
    Don’t want no war,
‘Cos we’re too young to die,
    So many people,
    All around the world,
    Seen their brothers fry.
    What’s the motive?
    In your madness.
    You’ve made my people cry.
    So politicians this time
    Keep your distance.
‘Cos we’re too young to die.
You know we’re too young to die,
You know we’re too young to die,
You know we’re too young to die,
You know we’re too young to die,

    What’s the answer?
    To our problems.
I think we’ve gone too high,
    Little children,
    Never said a word now,
But still they have to die.
    It won’t be long.
    Dancing like we do now,
To put this sad world right.
    So don’t you worry,
    Suffer no more,
‘Cos we’re too young to die.
You know we’re too young to die,
You know we’re too young to die,
You know we’re too young to die,
You know we’re too young to die,

All gone when they drop the bomb.
    Can the politicians reassure?
‘Cos here I am presuming that
    Nobody wants a war
    There’s so many people praying
Just to find out if they’re staying.
    But lately stately governments
    And disillusioned leaders,
    So full of empty promises
But rarely do they feed us.
Put our backs against the wall,
Or don’t we count at all?

    Can you decide,
    Are you mesmerised.
Do you know which side you’re standing?
Cos when it falls gonna take us all.
    Gotta know what we’re demanding,
    I never lie,
    Can’t your hear the cry,
    Coming from on high,
    WE’RE TOO YOUNG TO DIE.

    Lyrics:

    Lyrics to Peace :

peace for the people who are gone
yekpa for the ones not yet born
oh oh oh for the people who are here
oh oh oh for the peopleI cry when I see that I am born
I live when I see what I am to doCos life is all about
All you sitting and looking at me
Take one step at a time
Cos if you jump, you’ll never believe

    The thorns of life
    Them are whining and
    waiting for you and me
They make a brother , I want to run away

    Run away, run away,
    run away,

Bob Dylan – Blowin’ in the wind
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TL_FEFMlzVY

How many roads most a man walk down
Before you call him a man ?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand ?
Yes, how many times must the cannon balls fly
    Before they’re forever banned ?
The answer my friend is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.

Yes, how many years can a mountain exist
Before it’s washed to the sea ?
Yes, how many years can some people exist
Before they’re allowed to be free ?
Yes, how many times can a man turn his head
Pretending he just doesn’t see ?
The answer my friend is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.

Yes, how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky ?
Yes, how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry ?
Yes, how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died ?
The answer my friend is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.

Impressive collection already but you guys are really making an effort to kill the mood with alll these slow and mellow tracks so I’ll join right in 🙂 Here is a trauma related song: We were all wounded at Wounded Knee

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-1WgV_IxYo

We were all wounded at wounded knee
    You and me
We were all wounded at wounded knee
    You and me
In the name of manifest destiny
You and me you and me you and me.

    They made us many promises
    But always broke their word
They penned us in like Buffalo
    Drove us like a heard
    And finally on the reservation
We were going for our preservation
We were all wiped out by the seventh Calvary
You and me you and me.

We were all wounded at wounded knee
    You and me
We were all wounded at wounded knee
    You and me
In the name of manifest destiny
You and me you and me you and me.

    Now we make our promises
    We won’t break our word
Well sing, sing, sing out our story
    Till the truth is heard
    There’s a whole new generation
    Which will dream of veneration
Who were not wiped out by the seventh Calvary
You and me you and me.

We were all wounded at wounded knee
    You and me
We were all wounded at wounded knee
    You and me
In the name of manifest destiny
You and me you and me you and me.

During the decade of the eighties when the saintly Pope John Paul II was visiting Mexico he was asked as to whether he thought world peace could ever be achieved.  Without hesitation he stated: Yes, world peace will eventually be achieved but only after two of the greatest evils of the 20th century are gone. He added saying: These two great evils are communism and capitalism because both advance their causes through the exploitation of people.

Emmanuel Jal – We Want Peace ft Alicia Keys

    Oh yeah
    Oh yeah
I’m looking for some people who’s looking for peace
Maybe together we could make the war cease
Now we can send mankind to the moon
And we can reach to the bottom of the sea
That’s why it really kind of baffles me
That we cannot end wars and bring peace
And we cannot change the way people act
And we cannot change the way people think
So if we sit back, chill out and relax
    Civilization will soon be extinct
    That’s why I am

    [Chorus]
    >I am calling on
I’m calling on the whole wide world
    >On the whole wide world
Come on people would you help me
    >Help me scream and shout
Let’s scream and shout coz we want peace
    >That we want peace
    To say the least

I dedicate this song to the common people
Caught in the middle of this common evil
I wish the world was a little bit fairer
Time we start looking at the man in the mirror
    Fear is the devil’s policeman
Fear made good Germans side with Hitler so he can
Build the war of genocide and havoc was wreaking
Silence of the lamb ’cause nobody was speaking
    That’s why I am

    [Chorus]

    Somebody said, “After Rwanda
    >Never again,”
    And after Rwanda
    >It’s happening
    Not far from Rwanda
    >Just next door
Who’s gonna shout for the poor people living in Darfur?
    The world’s gone deaf
    The world’s gone blind
The world’s busy sitting down on their behind
Nobody cares about the poor and needy
Too busy sucking up to the rich and greedy
For every hero there is villain
    I ain’t kidding
We gonna shout out standing up or sitting
    One more time?
    We got no more time!
We got to figure out the way we could all combine
    Hey!
Like Jericho the walls came tumbling down
The sound of voices had the city surround
    You know what is worth
Time to put our voices to work
We got to shake down heaven and earth
    That’s why I am

    [Chorus]

    Come on everybody, come on
Stand up, stand up, stand up
You want peace and I want peace
    Stand up, stand up
You want peace and I want peace
    Stand up, stand up
You want peace and I want peace
    Stand up… [continued]

    Hi all!

Follow the sun from Xavier Rudd’s brand new album.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0E1bNmyPWww

    Follow, follow the sun
and which way the wind blows
    when this day is done.

    Breath, breath in the air.
    Set your intentions.
    Dream with care.

Tomorrow is a new day for everyone,
rand new moon, brand new sun.

    So follow, follow the sun,
    the direction of the bird,
    the direction of love.

    Breath, breath in the air,
    cheerish this moment,
    cheerish this breath.

Tomorrow is a new day for everyone,
brand new moon, brand new sun.

When you feel love coming down on you,
    like a heavy wave.
When you feel this crazy society,
    headin’ to the strand.
Take a straw to the nearest waters
    and remember your place.
Many moons have risen and fallen long, long before youve came.
So which way is the wind blowin’,
and what does your heart say?

    So follow, follow the sun,
and which way the wind blows
